CONTEND 2025
18 OCTOBER 2025

This year, Contend is outward-facing—turning our attention to the reality of domestic and family violence on the Central Coast and inviting our whole community into informed prayer that leads to action.

Listen & Learn

Josh Dowton (Northside Baptist Church) will share how their church has responded and formed partnerships for real impact. A panel of local experts will brief us on the situation here on the Coast.

Be Equipped

A practical Active Bystander workshop will give us skills and resources to respond safely and wisely when we encounter signs of violence or harm.

Pray & Respond

We’ll close the day in united prayer—seeking God’s heart and discerning tangible next steps so we can make a difference in our homes, streets, churches, and networks.

Why Come?
Because as people committed to contending for the renewal of the Central Coast, we recognise that domestic and family violence is a huge reality in our community. We also recognise that this is not God’s design for the home—which should be a place of safety, not fear.

Across the day we will:

- Listen, learn, and practise courageous compassion

- Reflect and commit to hopeful change

- Stand together as a community of faith and action
