OUR COMMITMENT TO SAFETY

Coast Community Church is committed to being a genuinely safe place for everyone who is part of our community: children, young people, and adults, with particular care for those who are most vulnerable. This commitment is not simply a policy obligation; it flows from our belief that every person bears dignity and deserves to be protected, respected, and heard.

People
We are committed to the safety, wellbeing, and empowerment of all children and young people, and to the care and dignity of vulnerable adults, including older persons, people with disability, those experiencing mental health challenges, and those facing marginalisation.

Culture
We are committed to cultural safety and inclusivity. We respect the rights and dignity of all people, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and we maintain environments free from racism and discrimination.

Prevention
We have zero tolerance for abuse of any kind. All leaders, staff, and volunteers are screened, trained, and held accountable through our Safe Ministry processes, in compliance with the NSW Child Safe Scheme and the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.

Response
We take all concerns and allegations seriously. Our Safe Church Team is available to receive and respond to any concern, and we are committed to acting with care, confidentiality, and integrity in line with our legal obligations.

For full details, including our screening and training requirements, reporting pathways, and the role of our Safe Church Team, see our Safe Church Policy.
